Glacier Tek has developed two revolutionary products for the horse community.
These new products are designed to ensure the thermal comfort of both horse and rider. They are powered by a patent-pending gelled form of PureTemp's biobased phase change material engineered to maintain a temperature of 64 degrees F. The PCM is contained in a nylon fabric that is soft to the touch, durable and easy to clean.
• The Matryx: The Matryx therapy blanket is engineered to quickly transition a horse into a restful state while safely cooling the horse to a desired temperature. The Matryx features 65 pounds of PureTemp biobased phase change material. In a chilled state, the flexible material absorbs heat, much like ice. But at a constant temperature of around 64 degrees Fahrenheit, this flexible material quickly returns a horse to a safe and comfortable temperature without overcooling.
The weight of the cooling material has an important benefit. In humans, weighted blankets are used to treat anxiety and depression. In cattle, hydraulic chutes apply pressure that reduces stress in livestock. Think of the Matryx as a weighted therapy blanket, using weighted pressure to make your horse feel more secure. The Matryx reduces anxiety within minutes – naturally.
• The Gellé: Thermal comfort is important to riders as well. Our PCM-powered gilet, right, provides cooling comfort in a concealable form. It can be worn before, during or after a ride.
We will soon be offering the Matryx and the Gellé on our website. For more information, drop us a line at email@example.com.
