Glacier Tek's NuCool Vest provides a natural, comfortable solution to heat stress. It's manufactured from CoolTech material with Moisture Control System® Adaptive Technology. The vest comes equipped with a set of cooling packs filled with PureTemp biobased phase change material. The vest remains thermally stable at 59° F (15° C) for up to 2.5 hours in 100° F (38° C). Improved thermal regulation keeps the wearer drier and more comfortable in most types of environments.
The vest is portable and unpowered (no hoses, tubes or tethers). The cooling packs recharge in about 20 minutes in ice water. Plus, the packs have been recharged 10,000 times in our lab with no measurable change in performance.
For added comfort, the eight cooling packs included with this vest feature horizontal cells that conform to your torso as you bend and stretch. The redesigned packs come in two sizes: 10.3 ounces and 7 ounces. For maximum cooling, insert a large and a small cooling pack into each pocket of the vest. For less demanding conditions, such as office use, you may lighten the vest by using a single large pack in each pocket. The packs have a hermetically sealed outer barrier film that can be cleaned and sterilized with ease.
