The Chilly Dog Vest is an adjustable-fit style vest, it uses straps that can be adjusted for size to ensure the best fit. Chilly Dog Vest - Length, Width, and Weight

The average chest size for dogs that the standard vest will fit is 28-46 inches. The typical minimum weight of a dog suitable for the Chilly Dog Vest is 60 lbs. German Shepards, Dobermans, Golden Retreivers, and Newfies are the breeds that most frequently use this vest! The Chilly Dog Extender Set can increase the size around the body that the vest will fit.

Regarding the length of the dog (vest) - the fabric portion of the vest will cover approximately 9" in length along the underside of your dog. The rest of the vest is an open-strap design that leaves the dog's body uncovered and able to breathe freely.

It is best to make sure that your dog measures at least 11-12" or more between the front and rear legs, to ensure that wearing the vest will not obstruct any bodily functions.  Refer to the illustrated guide in the photos above for specific measurements on both male and female dogs.

A Chilly Dog Cooling Vest with all of the Cooling Packs weighs approximately 4 lbs. You can use 2 packs instead of 4 in the vest, for a more lightweight vest if/when necessary - this will reduce the duration that the cooling packs will endure.

Once the vest is on my dog, how can I tell if it's a "good fit"?

For the most ideal use, this cooling vest should fit the dog comfortably but does not need to tightly "hug" the stomach. The vest's design will secure it reliably to the dog's torso, but some space will still be best for allowing the dog the best freedom of movement.

A great recommendation for indicating if the vest is too far from the dog's stomach, is to reach your hand inbetween the vest and dog to check the fit. If you can fit your hand easily between the vest and dog without touching either the fabric or fur, the fit is becoming too loose and the straps should be tightened.

Cooling Packs are inserted into the velcro-secured pockets on the Chilly Dog Vest. The cooling packs should be charged before use.

Chilly Dog Cooling Packs can provide cooling for up to 2.5 hours and recharge consistently in an hour or less!

For all-day use, simply rotate two cooling pack sets and recharge via one of the following methods:

• Submerge your glacierpack set in ice water for 30 minutes
• Place the GlacierPack set in your freezer for one hour
• Place GlacierPack set in your refrigerator for approximately two hours
