Reusable Cooling Packs, Disposable Vests

The Pack Set for Disposable Vests is reusable - just like our other cooling packs. The vests themselves may be disposed of after use, and the cooling packs can be wiped down to provide an entirely clean cooling solution for the next user.

Easy to Clean

GlacierPacks can be hand-washed with warm water and dish soap. If desired, isopropyl alcohol may be used for disinfection. Rinse and towel dry before use.

Disposable vests should be disposed of after 1-5 uses, vests will remain functional but may be dirtied during repeat use.

Adustable Fit for Sizes S-XL

The Disposable vest comes in one size, with side straps that can be adjusted to fit most adults. Vests will accomodate standard sizes S-XL, Disposable vests are not compatible with any extender sets.

The following items are included in a Disposable Vest Set:

Product Materials:

  • The Disposable vest is made with non-woven polyester
  • Cooling packs contain a non-hazardous and bio-degradable PCM, the Safety Data Sheet can be found here

Perfect for use with protective clothing!

I must wear protective clothing when performing certain tasks mainly for allergies but also for protection against contact with irritants and chemicals. Most of the tasks I need to perform are done outdoors. Wearing protective clothing is fine for moderate temperatures, but when the humidity climbs and the temperature rises above 85 degrees, wearing a protective suit can become unbearable.

Enter the Disposable Cool Vest. You can wear this vest under your protective clothing and not worry about getting it dirty or contaminated - you can just pull out the cool packs, clean them off, and throw the contaminated vest away along with your disposable suit.

I have tested this vest in every task I need to perform and am happy to report it is quite durable. I have worn it while performing manual tasks (even rapid movement of the arms, lifting, etc.) with no issues. During an especially strenuous task, I managed to snag one of the pockets resulting in a small tear. Despite this minor damage, I was able to reuse the vest several more times.

Regarding reusing the vest, if you get the vest dirty with minor, soluble, non-toxic chemicals (or just dirt), you can hose it off and let it dry before reuse. I was able to do this five times for one vest and it is still in serviceable condition.

I do have one minor improvement that I feel would make the vest perfect (for me). I would either add a Velcro closure for the cool pack pockets or sew the pockets so that they are top loading with a Velcro closure. This would keep the cool packs more secure and avoid the potential for the cool packs to fall out if you need to roll onto your side. This is only an issue when the cool packs reach the end of their effectiveness as they will become flexible and the vest will not fit as tightly. The cure is to readjust the Velcro straps periodically to keep the vest tight against your body. This is a bit inconvenient when wearing protective clothing since you have to undo things to get to the Velcro straps. Having a Velcro closure on the pockets would fix the issue.

It's great

I like the fact I can throw away a contaminated outer shell and re-use my cooling packs in a fresh, new vest. We don't have laundry facilities here.
